The Best Pregnant Celebs of 2008

Who says pregnant woman aren’t sexy and looking fabulous.

Nicole Kidman

Due date: Daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was born July 7.
Best known for: Being a major movie star and the ex-wife of Tom Cruise
Baby’s daddy: Country singer husband Keith Urban
Defining Maternity Moment: After suffering an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage during her marriage to Cruise, we were all rooting for Nicole to become a mom again (she’s already mama to adopted children Isabella and Connor). The couple know the sex, but they’re not spilling.

Minnie Driver

Due date: August
Best known for: Being nominated as best supporting actress for Good Will Hunting (and getting unceremoniously dumped by costar Matt Damon), and starring with Eddie Izzard in FX’s The Riches
Baby’s daddy: Unknown
Defining Maternity Moment: Although she came clean about her pregnancy on The Tonight Show, she’s never spilled the beans on who the daddy is, saying only, “I’m the public person and he can stay private.”

Gwen Stefani

Due date: August
Best known for: Fronting the ska band No Doubt and designing L.A.M.B., her fashion line
Baby’s daddy: Rocker husband Gavin Rossdale
Defining Maternity Moment: After years of songs about longing for a family, we were thrilled for Gwen when she gave birth to son Kingston in 2006. Now her father-in-law has confirmed rumors that she’s preggers with #2. Despite never leaving the house without a perfect coif and her signature red lipstick, there’s something so lovably down-to-earth about Gwen — she’s even whipping out the same maternity clothes she wore last time around.

Angelina Jolie

Due date: Summer
Best known for: Winning the Oscar for Girl, Interrupted, saving the world, and being impossibly gorgeous
Baby’s daddy: Actor boyfriend Brad Pitt (heard of him?)
Defining Maternity Moment: Still in her early 30s, Angelina is now expecting twins, who will be her second and third biological children (her first was Shiloh). Already mama to adopted children Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, that will bring her grand total to six kids, making us wonder what we’ve been doing with our time. Angie has mostly kept mum about this pregnancy (even scolding a CNN reporter who tried to bring it up) but debuted an undeniable bump at the Film Independent’s Spirit Awards.

Tori Spelling

Due date: Daughter Stella Doreen McDermott was born June 9.
Best known for: Playing Donna on Beverly Hills 90210 and being the daughter of late TV mega-hit producer Aaron Spelling
Baby’s daddy: Actor husband Dean McDermott
Defining Maternity Moment: Baby #1 Liam hadn’t even reached his first birthday before Tori announced she was expecting again. Get this for an anticlimactic spill-the-beans moment: She wrote “I’m a big brother” on a note, pinned it to Liam’s shirt, and waited for her husband to figure it out — and waited some more. Finally after 5 minutes Tori had to explain it to him.

Jessica Alba

Due date: Daughter Honor Marie Warren was born June 7.
Best known for: Starring in Fantastic Four
Baby’s daddy: Movie producer fiance Cash Warren
Defining Maternity Moment: Alba and Warren broke up in the summer of 2007, but must have had fun making up, because soon she announced she was pregnant. Alba has a bit of a bad rep for not embracing her Latina roots, but she has said in interviews that although she didn’t grow up speaking Spanish, she plans to raise her child to be bilingual.

Halle Berry

Due date: Her daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry was born March 16
Best known for: Being the first African-American to win the Best Actress Oscar
Baby’s daddy: Canadian model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry
Defining Maternity Moment: It just goes to show that looks aren’t everything: Despite being one of the most gorgeous women on the planet, Berry could not find a good man, divorcing baseball player David Justice and then R&B crooner Eric Benet. She finally got lucky with superhottie and reportedly nice guy Aubry. With two such uber-stunning parents, this baby’s hit the genetic jackpot — and may even give Shiloh a run for her money.

Cate Blanchett

Due date: Son Ignatius Martin was born April 13.
Best known for: Winning the Oscar for playing Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator
Baby’s daddy: Playwright husband Andrew Upton
Defining Maternity Moment: Cate is always effortlessly elegant, and maternity dressing is no exception (see recent Academy Awards, Film Spirit). We’re also dying to know her baby name shortlist for #3; with sons Dashiell and Roman (she’s reportedly having another boy), we know it’s gonna be a good one.

Jennifer Lopez

Due date: Her twins Max and Emme were born on February 22.
Best known for: Her famous boyfriends (P. Diddy and Ben Affleck) and her many marriages. And — oh yeah — she sings, dances, and acts, too.
Baby’s daddy: Singer husband Marc Anthony
Defining Maternity Moment: Just call her Mommy from the Block. When Lopez’s famously cut abs went undercover, the chatter started. When she started toning down her dance moves and wearing empire-waist dresses (and, um, did she eat a huge lunch?), the gossip reached a fever pitch. She finally confirmed her obvious pregnancy on the last date of her concert tour, but remained mum on the baby’s ETA or the speculation that she was carrying twins.

Christina Aguilera

Due date: Son Max Liron Bratman was born January 12.
Best known for: Possessing killer pipes, and going from sexed-up to old-school on her latest album, Back to Basics
Baby’s daddy: Music exec husband Jordan Bratman
Defining Maternity Moment: Privacy, apparently, is what a girl wants. In the first few months, Aguilera wouldn’t confirm her preggo status, but she pointed out her bump with a big smile on stage, and Paris Hilton forced her out of the pg-closet by calling her “the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world.” Near the end of her pregnancy, she finally flaunted the belly during a nude photo shoot for Marie Claire.

Nicole Richie

Due date: Daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born January 11.
Best known for: Starring in The Simple Life — and being very very skinny
Baby’s daddy: Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden
Defining Maternity Moment: And you thought everyone knew about you well before the 12-week safe-to-tell mark! Buzz that the itsy-bitsy Richie was preggers started when she was just 10 weeks along. She used all manner of diversions — pillows, flowy clothes, huge designer purses — to hide her bump, but when she confirmed the pregnancy at almost four months, we all already knew.

Pregnant “Man” Thomas Beatie Gave Birth To a Baby Girl

Ridiculous

Thomas Beatie who began life as a woman and legally switched to a male identity, while preserving his female reproductive organs, and his wife Nancy welcomed a daughter at an Oregon hospital on June 29. Both Beatie and his daughter are healthy and doing well.
Pregnant man, right!!! As if being a man was only about a name! Someone who wants to be a man doesn’t keep her female reproductive organs.

Beatie, who took twice-weekly doses of testosterone and had his breasts surgically removed during his female-to-male transition, made headlines around the globe last April when he announced in an exclusive interview in People and on The Oprah Winfrey Show that he was expecting a child – while legally living as a man. LEGALLY! Not physically…
I know some dykes who behave more like a man than this Thomas!! She/he just wants to be famous and well she/he is!! And those creepy pictures and million interviews… they are just creepy!!!
Raised in Hawaii, he spent the first two decades of his life as Tracy Lagondino, a Girl Scout, former model and finalist in a Miss Hawaii Teen USA pageant. Beatie told he began to dress and live as a man in his 20s, in time officially changing his gender on his passport and driver’s license.
In 2003, he legally married Nancy, a divorced mother of two who had had a hysterectomy as a result of endometriosis.
The couple became pregnant using donor sperm and Thomas’s eggs, through artificial insemination, after relocating in 2005 to Bend, Ore., where they operate a T-shirting printing business. A guy has got to sale a lot of Tees to be famous!!
Their baby girl is Thomas’s first child. “The only thing different about me is that I can’t breastfeed my baby. But a lot of mothers don’t”.
Despite published reports, Beatie says the baby was not delivered via C-section. He intends to publish a book about his experience this fall. Just another story to sell to the press… please spares us!!!

As It Happens

I’m having bad flu, stuffy nose and sore throat. Just took flu medicine, feeling damn drowsy right now. When i’m having a flu, I will make sure these items are inside my bag (except the nasi lemak hahahha)

Something bad happened yesterday as I went for lunch with my dearest friend Elin, she parked the car outside the restaurant. Merely about 20 minutes later when we entered the car suddenly Elin was screaming. Guess what? A stupid thief broke her car mirror and stole her acer laptop. Luckily her officemate Chris was really helpful.

It has bring to my attention that thieves now have the technical means to identify electrical products hidden anywhere within a vehicle INCLUDING THE BOOT??!!!! Laptop computers being the main target.

The question again and again raises in my mind, do thieves really do have the ability to detect laptop computers hidden anywhere in a car? How do this detector works? Detecting ELECTRONICS PARTS? Aren’t there a whole lot of car parts nowadays that are at least partly electronic?

So scary nowadays

Free water in Selangor from June

I received water bill yesterday, and my bill showed i only have to pay RM7 instead of RM14. It was a good news indeed.

Free water in Selangor from June

SHAH ALAM (June 11, 2008): Some one million households in Selangor will still get their 20 cubic metres of free water effective June 1, Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said today.

Speaking to reporters after a discussion with Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) CEO Datuk Ruslan Hassan and Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd (KDEB) president Datuk Abdul Karim Munisar, Khalid appeared pleased when he announced that all issues between the three parties had been resolved.

Ruslan and Abdul Karim were also present in the press conference in which Khalid explained that confusion over the issue arose because all the parties “wanted to make sure about what was going to be done”.

He said the consensus was arrived not after looking at an alternative method but after “clarification”.

“The system is the first of its kind in Malaysia after privatisation, so you will have to bear with us on issues related to it.

“The final analysis is that the issue has been resolved and we are giving free water to our consumers, as we promised,” Khalid added.

The free water policy will apply to 1.1 million domestic individual accounts in Selangor under Syabas’ jurisdiction, which also covers 1.5 million accounts in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Domestic users will receive new bills with a rebate for 20 cubic metres beginning June 16, while those who receive their bills before the date, will receive a payment rebate for June 1 to 15 in July’s bill.

Khalid said the payment costs will be borne by Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd (KDEB), which is wholly owned by the state government.

“We are still discussing this issue because there are three phases to the free water policy. The first is implementation of the billing of free water, second, the restructuring of the water industry in the state, and the third is that while the free water will continue, the allocation of funds and pricing will change after we take into account the economies of scale,” he said.

When asked about the costs, Khalid said costs to be paid to Syabas will be audited.

“We are expecting at least one million customers and multiplied by RM11 per customer, will come up to RM11 million, but we cannot get the exact figure.

“The most important thing is that the people of Selangor will receive free water,” he said, affirming that the deal has been signed in black and white and “even red”.

When approached by reporters later, Ruslan said Syabas had compromised by allowing KDEB to make their payments within 30 days of issuance of the bill, from its original request of 14 days.

“Taking into account the trend, monthly costs are expected to run up to an estimated RM10.8 million,” he said.

Asked if he was pleased with the outcome of the discussion, Ruslan answered in the affirmative while noting that Khalid was fair and objective.

Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia

What a cute couple, don’t you think?? I love Hayden though ever since I saw her in Heroes.

The good news is that Heroes is back in production, the bad news is that 30 year old Milo Ventimiglia and 18 year Hayden Panettiere are still dating. It is going to be weird seeing this uncle and niece acting together when Heroes finally comes back in September.

And I LOVE MILO a lot (hahahaha)

Itsy Bitsy

- Mom will be getting her new car soon, my brother and I already settled, paid out the down payment last week. My car on the other hand will take some time as government car loan process is so complicated. I predict by middle of july is all settle then.

- I ordered 2 cakes from my brother (he’s a pastry chef at one of the hotel at Bangi), for my daughter’s upcoming birthday. One is chocolate flavour and the other one is blueberry cheese flavour.

- I need to adjust my body to a new schedule soon. My weekends now will be occupied with classes. As a time being i will commute by bus and lrt until my ‘Porsche’ SAGA is coming. Don’t you know for just RM7 per day u can commute by any Rapid KL line, meaning buses and lrts. It saves a lot. When it comes to money, I’m a very frugal person.

- I need to organize my housework schedule. I’ve always waited until the last minute to start my housework. Need to schedule it properly so that hubby will not complaining.

- I need to jot down my all daily expenses. I am on a really tight budget this two months. Sigh

- All holidays must be planned according to my study schedule.
