How to download “Streaming Video”??
I know that some of you already knew that one of my hobbies is downloading/collecting of Korean/Japanese/Taiwanese Dramas and Movies. I have collected almost 700 different titles of dramas/movies.That’s not included my English TV Series/Movies collection which are almost 150 different titles. And the most irony is i just finished watching 51 dramas/movies from the list. Yeah it’s absolutely true.
So i want to share with you, a simple steps how to download “Streaming Video ” or “online video”. Bare with me, cause my posting going to be a little bit technical and using a lots of IT jargon. I’ll try my best to explain it.
Video Streaming is a very popular thingy among the netters. Futhermore this option suitable for working mothers who don’t have time to catch up their favourite TV shows. And can save money from buying VCDs and DVDs. I personally think for buying a DVD set of KDrama is incredibly expensive as it cost around rm80-150 per box here in Malaysia.
Video Streaming can be found in Youtube, Daily motion, Megavideo, etc and now even tv3/8tv/ntv7/tv9 have their own video streaming websites. The video file usually in .flv format initially known as Shockwave Flash. All this video streaming can be downloaded and save it in your PC. One of my favourites software called ‘Orbit Downloader’. You can easily grab the video by using this software. It only takes 5 steps to complete the whole process.
Step 1: Download ‘Orbit Downloader’ and install it
Step 2 : Once the ‘Orbit Downloader’ has been installed, now open any streaming video website of your choice and choose a video to download. After that ‘Right Click your mouse” and select ‘Grab video by Orbit’.
Step 3 : Grab screen pop up will appear. Tick the File check box and click ‘DOWNLOAD’. Keep refreshing the page if there is no video available in the list. This step a bit confusing at first, but you eventually get used to it.
Step 4: When a ‘Create New Download’ screen appears, you can rename the file then click OK button
Step 5: Now the file is starting to download and wait till it’s complete. Duration of downloading depends on your network bandwith and your PC performance. Usually for a file size below 10MB will takes approx. about 5-10 minutes.
Walla, now it’s all done. Oh yeah, one more thing the downloaded files usually auto save at C: drive under Download folder. After finished, open the file using K-Lite Codec , VLC Player or other software preferable that can support .flv format
